Important Information Regarding Joint Conference Efforts
The 4th annual Samuel M. Nabrit Conference for Early Career Scholars and the New England Regional Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Conference will be taking place in conjunction and in person at Brown, June 16-18, 2022. The Nabrit Conference (June 16-17) and the New England SACNAS Conference (June 17-18) will meet in a shared session featuring a keynote talk by Dr. Kristy Red-Horse (Stanford University) on the afternoon of June 17.
The Samuel M. Nabrit Conference for Early Career Scholars is free and open to the public but requires separate registration; additional information is included below.

4th annual Dr. Samuel M. Nabrit Conference for Early Career Scholars
June 16-17, 2022
Brown University, Providence, RI
This free conference will showcase the research achievements of outstanding molecular life scientists from historically underrepresented groups. Featuring two keynote presentations, the conference program also includes short talks for invited attendees, poster presentations, and panel events. Speakers will be selected from applicants who are senior graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and beginning faculty members or industry scientists. Applications for oral presentation slots will open in March.
This will be an inclusive event, drawing attendees from the Brown BioMed community and the New England region, including graduate and undergraduate students, post-doctoral researchers and faculty.
The conference has been named in honor of Dr. Samuel Milton Nabrit, Brown’s first African-American Ph.D. recipient and a marine biologist with a distinguished international career. Please contact smnc@brown.edu if you have questions about the conference.
