Topic: Legitimacy of Study

The research study is funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health. The grant provides the researchers with funding to compensate participants. The grant was written and approved to provide generous compensation with the recognition that it will take significant participant incentives to attract all students from the Class of 2021 and to keep them enrolled for the 2 years of the study. In general, the more a research study is asking of its participants or the harder it is perceived to have the desired population participate, the higher the incentive for participation is set.
