Research Assistant position in cardiovascular research
The Abid laboratory has an open position for a very dedicated and collaborative Research Assistant.
The candidate should be able to perform Molecular Biology and animal experiments including handling, breeding and genotyping of experimental animals, PCR and cell culture. Under supervision and following established policies and procedures, may conduct experiments using in vivo/or in vitro techniques. Willing to learn new laboratory techniques. Operates monitoring equipment; collects and analyzes data using statistical methodology. Maintains lab supplies. Reviews literature in the field for informational purposes or to gather data. May help with writing and preparation of manuscripts and IRB protocols. Willing to train or supervise research students in the lab. Experience in PCR and/or cell culture techniques, rodent handling, are required. Ability to work in a collaborative environment is a must.
