1999 PhD Physics from Brown

Deniz was the first PhD student to graduate from the lab, back in 1999 (last millennium, hard to believe). He worked on tunneling spectroscopy of Si/SiGe resonant tunneling devices, with a focus on inhomogeneous strain.

His PhD thesis was entitled Resonant Tunneling Measurements of Size-Induced Strain Relaxation, with publications on experimental transport characterization of inhomogeneous strain in individual quantum dots and the resulting lateral confinement effects.

After graduating, Deniz worked for a number of large companies, from GTech to Merck, eventually landing at EverQuote.
