We explore brain circuits to understand the human condition and the processes underlying neurological and psychiatric disease. We study cognition and affect through neural activity and circuit perturbations. Our goals are to identify the neurophysiological signatures and mechanisms of normal and pathological states, and to design more rational and effective forms of brain circuit modulation.
