Congratulations to our soon-to-be graduating research assistant Yael Braverman, who was recently awarded the Richard E. Whalen Award for Undergraduate Research: Excellence in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology! The committee considers students from multiple departments around Brown and takes into account their performance in their concentration, research, and honors thesis work.

“The Richard E. Whalen Award was established in 1996 to mark the 40th anniversary of Professor Whalen’s graduation from Brown. In the spirit of Professor Whalen’s lifelong devotion and many contributions to research in the area of the biological underpinnings of behavior, the award will be granted each year to an undergraduate who has shown research excellence in the area of neuroscience and the biological basis of behavior broadly defined.”
