Editorial Responsibilities

The Senior Editors are jointly responsible for the content of the journal. Senior Editors are advised by peer review to decide on the publication of a manuscript. Duties include setting and agreeing on the objectives of JBHM and overseeing the receipt, quality validation, and publishing decisions for all articles submitted to the journal.

Senior Editors make editorial decisions based on manuscript validity and clinical relevance. Editorial decisions are made without consideration of the authors’ race, location, or gender. Editors work to ensure the timeliness of decisions, revisions, and publication of manuscripts. Additionally, Senior Editors are responsible for issuing errata and retractions in the appropriate situations and as applicable as per Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) – Code of conduct and best practice guidelines for journal editors.

The Editorial Board is a group of subject-area experts chosen based on their expertise, reviewing history, and demonstrated commitment to excellence. Associate Editors are appointed for three- year terms, and many serve for more than one term. The current list of Associate Editors and contact information is available on the editorial board page. JBHM expects that its Editor, Associate Editors, referees, and authors will adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards.
