Our team is focused on developing and testing pragmatic, real-world approaches to the imaging triage and endovascular treatment of patients with acute cerebrovascular pathology, including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, to improve the speed and safety by which we can identify and treat patients in a minimally invasive fashion. We are excited to leverage cutting edge technology, such as dual-energy CT, arterial-spin labeling, and perfusion imaging, to better recognize patients who may benefit from stroke thrombectomy, and to better leverage non-invasive imaging techniques for patients with cerebral aneurysms, vascular malformations, or recent stroke in the peri-interventional period.
Additionally, we are interested in better understanding the unique demographics and triage patterns in Rhode Island and the greater Northeast as we look to improve the infrastructure by which we treat our own patients.
We are proud to work in close collaboration with the Department of Radiology, Department of Neurosurgery, and the Department of Neurology at Brown University Health and be part of the greater Warren Alpert School of Medicine research enterprise. Additionally, we have specific collaborations regarding AI applications and human factors research in neuroimaging with our colleague laboratories in the research arm of the Department of Radiology.
