Matt, congratulations on a wonderful career at and best wishes as you head towards retirement. It has been my great fortune to come to know you through Gazebones, to see you in action at Brown, and play with you in multiple big bands. Your passion for music, teaching, learning and friendship (not to mention good food and drink) have made you great at your chosen career and an inspiration to so many of us. I hope retirement is filled with everything you enjoy most (perhaps even a Volume II of Greatest Hits compositions and arrangements). I found the photo shown here from the after party of “Breakfast With The Saints” in 2018 on your porch, one of what were probably thousands of great musical experiences with friends. May that continue for many years to come.
