Andrew Heald joined us as the new Program Director for the Global Brown Center for International Students in January, 2020. Andrew came to Brown from the California College of the Arts where he was the International Student Advisor for Cultural Engagement since 2017, working with over 800 international students in community building, exchange programs, and non-immigrant status advising. Previously Andrew has worked in Residential Life at the University of California – San Francisco, been an English Teacher for Kaplan International, and was an Assistant Language Teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET). Andrew has a BA in Linguistics from the University of California, San Diego, and an Ed.M. in Global Studies in Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.
