HS Students

CRMI brings together students from three priority schools in Providence, Rhode Island: Hope High School, Mount Pleasant High School, or Central High School. In order to be considered for the program, students must attend one of these three Providence public schools. During the 2020-2021 fiscal year, four students from each of the schools will be selected, creating a cohort of 12 students. 

Application Process: 

Applications will be available by Monday, August 31st

High School Juniors + Seniors interested in being a part of CRMI should complete this application by Friday, October 30th

  1. A completed application must include two uploaded letters of recommendation from either a teacher, school administrator, or a non-relative mentor by Friday, October 30th. These recommendations should be saved as PDFs and must include the recommender’s email for possible follow up questions. 
  2. Once a fully completed application is submitted, you will receive an email confirmation. 
  3. If you are selected for the interview process, you receive an email to schedule a 15 minute interview. Interviews will take place at the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice the week of November 9th-13th. 
  4. If accepted, students will be notified via email by Monday, November 30thStudents who accept the invitation will be asked to sign a Letter of Commitment, agreeing to the terms of participation which includes completing all aspects of the program.
