Olivia Takla (she/her)

Hometown:  Toms River, NJ

Background:

Hi, I’m Olivia Takla, a third-year undergraduate student, majoring in Physiology at Brown University.
Career goals and/or what you like most about being part of this team:
I am deeply passionate about supporting and educating individuals managing Type I Diabetes and those dealing with disordered eating. As a part of Dr. Warnick’s lab, my goal is to promote healthy lifestyle behaviors and offer guidance for navigating challenging thoughts and emotions. As an avid runner and a member of Brown’s cross country and track and field teams, I’m acutely aware of the unhealthy culture surrounding disordered eating that can pervade elite sports, particularly for female athletes. This insight fuels my commitment to fostering a healthier, supportive, and balanced environment for athletes and others facing similar challenges.
Career Goal(s):
I aspire to one day become a physician who not only provides exceptional medical care but also advocates for holistic well-being, helping others achieve a balanced and fulfilling life.
