Praniti Singh: PhD student;

Yanhan Wang: master student.

Potential position and basic requirement:

Graduate students: quantum field theory (two semesters; second semester might be taken concurrently with research) and solid backgrounds, i.e., A’s (or equivalence) in almost all physics (i.e., classical mechanics, electrodynamics, statistical mechanics, two semesters of quantum mechanics, and two semesters of quantum field theory) and math courses (i.e, calculus, linear algebra, and complex analysis), and previous research experinece: ideally one research paper already.

Contact me to start a trial project (consisting of two parts: initially a reading project and then a research project on the topic related to the reading project). For the first reading part, you are expected to reproduce results of the references provided on your own in a month or two at most. In the following research project, you are expected to lead the project and produce some new reasonable results in a month or two at most. Ph. D students also have to pass the comprehensive exam with decent grades. No funding will be provided to the Ph.D student unless passing all the trials.

Research of master students has to be self-funded. The physics requirements are the same as those for PhD students.

Undergraduate students: quantum mechanics (at least two semesters). Need to be awarded with univeristy UTRA/SPRINT funding or self-funded. Whether there is a position depends on whether I could find a suitable project.

If you are interested in working with me (whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student), please email me with your cv indicating your academic preparation and previous research experience, as well as your transcript

Sorry but I do not supervise high school students.
