The Climate and Environment group at Brown’s Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences maintains three isotope ratio mass spectrometers associated with two core facilities for analyzing the isotopic composition of bulk organic matter, organic compounds, and inorganic carbonates. These include two Delta V plus instruments and one 253+ instrument.  

The core facility operating the 253+ / Kiel IV / IBEX  instruments is available to external users and is capable of both traditional and clumped analyses of inorganic carbonates.
