Hana Tabit wins 2025 APME Best Poster

As a part of their very first graduate poster presentation, 2nd year candidate Hana Tabit won best poster out of nearly 140 posters at the 15th Advanced Polymers Via Macromolecular Engineering conference. Hana, we are so proud of you!

2025 Departmental Awards

3 From the McDonald Lab win Departmental Awards!

On Tuesday, May 6th, three of our group members won departmental awards.

For the Undergraduates, Chris Sanchez Jr. won the Reade Y. Tompson award for excellence in Undergraduate research, and Olivia Miller won the American Chemical Society Division of Organic Chemistry Excellence in Organic Chemistry Award.

For our graduate student side, 4th year candidate Timea Kolozsvary won the prestigious Vince Wernig Fellowship.

Draper Scholar and New Publication!

Draper Scholar and Publication

Kennalee Orme is one of the newest additions to the Draper Scholars Program  a partnership between Draper and Brown University. Kenna is employed at Draper and will continue her studies at Brown and as a member of the Draper team! Congratulations!

Additionally, Kenna and Aiden are co-authors on the newest McDonald publication, a collaborative paper with the Klein Laser Lab at Brown! See our publications tab for the pre-print! 

This comes after Kenna and Aiden presented their research at the spring 2025 ACS National Meeting in San Diego, CA.

Lab Dinner

After our group meeting this week, we celebrated Khang joining the lab with a group dinner at his favorite Vietnamese restaurant. We are very excited for Khang to join our lab!
