The PrEP Seguro study works collaboratively with key academic and public health partners to ensure the study’s successful implementation in Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. This study follows Mexico’s National HIV/AIDS Guidelines, and works closely with the following partners.

Clínica Especializada Condesa – CDMX 

Clínica Condesa is a primary, outpatient care center for people living with HIV and the largest provider of antiretroviral treatment in Mexico. The clinic offers screening for sexually transmitted infections and general HIV prevention and care in Mexico City. As of October 2023, CEC and its satellite and mobile clinics serve over 20,000 adults including 3,500 active PrEP users. 

SETAC (Solidaridad Ed Thomas, AC) 

SETAC is a community-based non-profit organization that provides health and wellness services for the LGBTQ community. SETAC has been operating two offices in Zona Romantica and Versalles since 2009. The offices see approximately 250 patients visits per month, conducts 1,500 HIV tests and distributes 120,000 condoms per year.

Hair Analytic Lab (HAL)

Hair Analytic Lab (HAL) at the University of California San Francisco develops, validates and analyzes measurements of pharmaceutical compounds in hair. HAL offers a highly sensitive assay for detecting antiretroviral medications in human hair using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods.

CISIDAT

CISIDAT is a non-for profit Health Research Consortium made up of more than 50 highly prestigious national and international researchers, a strategic ally in the generation of scientific evidence and training of human resources in health-related sciences in Mexico and other low- and middle-income countries. CISIDAT’s activities are focused on providing strategic tools to the National Institutes of Health and other allied academic and public institutions, to facilitate the development of research projects and training of human resources.
