This article discusses how while research has explored the similarities and differences in racial/ethnic minorities to Whites in developing substance use disorders, this article is one of the few that compares the likelihood of diagnostic remission between these groups. Using national survey data, the authors used logistic regression to concludew that minority race/ethnicity is highly associated with a reduced likelihood of diagnostic remission from substance use disorders.
