This article discusses how patient experiences and perspectives surrounding choosing buprenorphine over methadone in an urban setting were examined via qualitative and quantitative methods. The authors noted that while service delivery did not strongly affect treatment decisions between the two medications, personal experiences and community narratives about the medications guided patient decisions between buprenorphine and methadone.
