What is seen as important in recovery can be different for each person and can change over time. To understand what parts of recovery are important most of the time for most people, this study surveyed service providers and administrators in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Of the 27 indicators of recovery, 21 referred to general wellbeing or quality of life rather than drug use. While not all service providers agreed with the list of indicators, most agreed they were important for most patients most of the time.
