Stacie King

Stacie King is Professor and Chair of Anthropology at Indiana University. Since 2009, she has directed the Nejapa Tavela Archaeological Project in the Sierra Sur of Oaxaca, Mexico, which examines the impacts of conquest and colonialism throughout the mountains of southern Oaxaca. Over the course of her career, her research has focused on the themes of household social organization, foodways, trade and exchange, ritual and pilgrimage, soundscapes, critical heritage studies, and new materialisms. She is co-editor (with Verónica Pérez Rodríguez and Shanti Morell-Hart) of the volume Mesquite Pods to Mezcal: 10,000 Years of Oaxacan Cuisines.
