Faidra Papavasiliou is an economic anthropologist at Georgia State University. She is interested in alternative economies and sustainable agriculture and food systems in the US and Greece. Her current project traces the economics, politics, romantics and pragmatics of agrobiodiversity conservation as heritage preservation on the North Aegean island of Lemnos, where she has also had the privilege of becoming the namesake of a small ruminant.
