Emily Alton

Research Assistant

Emily is a research assistant with Project Preload. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Roger Williams University in December 2017, and her Masters of Arts in Psychology from Rhode Island College in May 2020. Emily’s primary research interests are broadly centered on examining risk and protective factors for mental health outcomes following experiences of trauma. Prior to working at Brown, Emily spent 8 years working with unhoused individuals in Philadelphia and Providence. While in graduate school, she worked on a variety of research projects assessing the impacts of stress on academic and health outcomes among college students. In the future, Emily plans to complete a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Emily enjoys baking, crocheting, and day-to-day life with her toddler.
