The S’Urachi Project: Cultural Encounters and Everyday Life around a Nuraghe from the Iron Age to the Roman period

Started in 2013, the S’Urachi Project investigates the ‘later’ phases in the life of the impressive monument that is nuraghe S’Urachi, i.e. throughout the first millennium BCE. Situated in the Upper Campidano and Gulf of Oristano regions in the west central region of the island of Sardinia, the site sits halfway between the rapidly rising slopes of the Monti Ferru and the extensive salt marshes and lagoons of Cabras to the south.

Dal 2013, il progetto S’Urachi si è proposto di studiare l’importante complesso nuragico di S’Urachi come un monumento fra età del Ferro e età storica, cioè fenicia, punica e romana. Situato nella Sardegna centro-occidentale, il sito si trova nel Campidano Maggiore fra le pendenze del Monti Ferru e le acque e sabbie dello stagno di Cabras.
