Anna Sophia McKenney

Dr. Anna Sophia McKenney is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Assistant Attending Radiologist at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. She holds a BSE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she studied biomedical engineering, and earned her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she studied diagnostic approaches for low-resource settings. She pursued her MD at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she was awarded the Elise Strang L’Esperance Prize in Public Health for her dedication to global health education and research. Her PhD work in translational oncology and cancer biology at the Gerstner Sloan Kettering Graduate School resulted in two patents and laid fundamental groundwork for clinical trials in acute myeloid leukemia patients. During her training in the Integrated IR/DR Residency Program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, she was awarded the Roentgen Resident Research Award and was active in the trainee editorial boards of RadioGraphics and the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR). Dr. McKenney is dedicated to advancing women’s health through minimally invasive approaches, and her work integrates public health principles into medical education and research.
