Our research centers around the metabolic health of the cardiovascular system. The lab uses preclinical models of cardiac and pulmonary vascular disease to study the underlying metabolic defects. We are interested in the parameters that lead to metabolic inflexibility in vascular disease and ways we can increase energy substrate availability under stress conditions. Another focus of our research is the action of bioactive lipids in pre-clinical models of myocardial infarction, arrhythmia and pulmonary hypertension.
