We are seniors at Brown University in the class Chem1560R: Role of Chemists! In this class, we focus on the ways chemistry impacts society at large. Our final project asks us to find one way to change the way chemistry is perceived/taught at Brown University.
We wanted to make this website to bridge the gap between chemistry researchers at Brown University and local citizens of Providence. Here, we detail some of the chemistry research being done, as well as research initiatives! Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions/concerns.

Dr. Jesse Morin has been our professor for this class, as well as a large inspiration into our work in green chemistry/research transparency. She is a Lecturer in Chemistry at Brown University and acts as the lead laboratory instructor for organic chemistry. She has started many initiatives at Brown to increase diversity and inclusion in STEM careers. She has also been one of the lead professors to implement Green Chemistry into student laboratory sections to limit environmental impact!
