Getting to Providence

Providence is easy to get to for visitors both from within the U.S. and abroad as it is conveniently located near Boston, Massachusetts. We recommend arriving at Boston’s Logan Airport and traveling by bus or rail (either Boston’s MBTA commuter rail or Amtrak) to Providence. For those coming from within the U.S., it may be more convenient to arrive into Providence directly via its Rhode Island T.F. Green Airport.

Options for traveling from Boston to Providence are listed here:

We have reserved accommodations for meeting attendees at two locations. The first is the Hope Club, one of the U.S.’s first private social clubs, which is also the venue for the conference. Rooms can be reserved by calling the club directly ((401) 421-4960), and the cost of the rooms ranges from $120-267/night, plus taxes. Please mention “Global Depression Prevention Consortium” when booking so they will release a room for you. The second accommodation option is The Homewood Suites by Hilton Providence Downtown – a traditional hotel with a rate of $189/night plus taxes for a king suite, including breakfast, internet, and local shuttle service.  This hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the meeting venue.  Rooms can be reserved by calling the hotel ((401) 942-2001) directly and mentioning the “Depression Prevention Consortium” or by using this link.
