Local computing

The High Energy Theory group maintains a number of general purpose desktop computers. Group members may also request accounts on the Oscar cluster.

    • lyx — a wysiwm front-end for latex
    • Adobe Illustrator — vector graphics
    • unison — syncronize files/directories between different computers
    • jabref — bibtex editor, for citing other papers in articles
    • bibdesk — Mac bibtex editor
    • mathematica
    • maple
    • vnc — remote desktop environment (lets you run long mathematica/maple jobs on the cluster)
    • grace — statistical plotting program (for when you have error bars)
