The mission of the Brown Image-Guided Therapies Research Laboratory is to conduct impactful, patient-centered research focused on improving patient outcomes following minimally-invasive image-guided interventions. Our laboratory focuses on the development of basic, translational, and clinical protocols to leverage existing technologies and develop new approaches to optimizing therapeutic effectiveness within the field of interventional radiology. Areas of active investigation include the adjuvant use of pH modulating drugs to improve locoregional anticancer therapies; the development of an ablation planning software platform to analyze intraprocedural imaging for near-real-time treatment margin assessment; and novel applications of machine learning to interventional oncology.
