The ultimate goal of our research is to improve the health of human musculoskeletal system. To achieve this purpose, we carry out multi-step investigation process: 1) identify key biological molecules of important cell signaling pathways in the musculoskeletal system, 2) study biological functions of these molecules during development, homeostasis, aging and disease in animal models, and 3) develop enabling nanotechnology to deliver these biological molecules for therapeutic and diagnostic clinical applications. Hence, we have assembled a multi-disciplinary research team in biology, medicine, chemistry, materials, and engineering. Collaboration and translation are our strength.
