Music Capstone Project:
- Book Smarts
For my capstone I composed, recorded and produced a multi-genre body of music work that I have produced over the last two and a half years. The different genres of the project are meant to stand-in for the different influences that have inspired me to make music during that time. I chose the name Book Smarts as a reference to the unexpected way my time at Brown taught me as much through conversations with peers of diverse perspectives and disciplines as through my coursework, if not more. The sounds collected on this project serve as a reflection on feeling pride in myself for where I am, academically, socially, emotionally, or otherwise, without judgment.
