ARCH 1170: Community Archaeology

The students of ARCH 1170: Community Archaeology in Providence and Beyond have spent the Spring 2022 semester collaborating with four local community partners to complete heritage projects in Rhode Island. These engaged scholarship projects were designed to foster connections between students and community members/practitioners as co-learners and co-creators. Work on the projects took place over the course of the semester, with the students writing an initial proposal, doing the project itself, writing and submitting a final report to their organization, and writing a final reflection essay. This blog is a space for each project group to share what they’ve been up to with the public.
