You may expect to field the following questions from your students concerning disability support, extracurricular activities, campus printing, and laundry and vending services.

Disability Support Services and Learning Accommodations

Brown University offers equal educational opportunities and reasonable accommodations for the needs of qualified students with disabilities. Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, reinforced by the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, maintains that no qualified individual with disabilities shall, solely on the basis of the disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity in higher education.

If a student requests a disability or learning accommodation in class, the instructor should direct the student to Brown’s Student and Employee Accessibility Services (SEAS).

Extracurricular Activities and Events

Brown Pre-College Programs offers a vibrant campus life community for our students. With over 900 program and activity offerings centered on identity development, social justice, college access/success, self-care, and social/mental/physical health, student learning flourishes both in and out of the traditional classroom during their time at Brown.

Throughout the student’s residential experience, the Campus Life staff will work with our students to ensure that they have both good academic and social experiences. The student’s first priority is to attend every class, including the last day of class, and be responsible for their coursework.

Students may inquire about other activities on campus. Extracurricular Activities and Events are available in the Summer 2019 Brown Pre-College Programs Official Guidebook app. More workshops & events will continue to be added over the course of the summer.
