Project MIMIC Team – Your Day-To-Day Contacts

Sara Becker, PhD

Sara is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Contact Principal Investigator of the Project MIMIC team. Sara leads a program of research that aims to increase the use of evidence-based addiction treatment in community settings. She is the Inaugural Director of the Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science at Northwestern University and continues to co-direct the New England ATTC. Outside of work, Sara enjoys travel, reading, writing, and having nightly dance parties with her husband and two daughters. Sara will oversee delivery of the ATTC training and will be responsible for general project oversight.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kim Yap, BS

Kim is a Project Coordinator on the Project MIMIC team. She graduated from the University of Delaware and worked as a Research Assistant there before being recruited to help launch Project MIMIC. Kim has been a proud member of the research team since the start of Project MIMIC! Kim enjoys spending her free time relaxing at the beach, going on road trips to visit friends, and exercising at the gym. Kim is responsible for answering the Project MIMIC hotline, overseeing day-to-day project tasks, keeping prize cabinets stocked and troubleshooting issues with CM tracker.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nicholas Correia, BA

Nicholas is a part-time Senior Research Assistant on the Project MIMIC team. He graduated from Brown University with a double concentration in Economics and Biology. Outside of work, he enjoys going on runs, spending time with his family and friends, and acting in theatrical productions. Nicholas will be responsible for conducting patient follow-ups, evaluating and providing feedback on CM sessions, and helping to troubleshoot any issues that may arise throughout the course of the study.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fariha Hasan, MPH

Fariha is a Research Assistant on the Project MIMIC team. She has a degree in public health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she conducted research studying the racial and socioeconomic disparities in chronic low back pain. Fariha spends most of her free time in the gym, either lifting weights or MMA training, and loves exploring new restaurants and going on sushi dates with her 9-year old sister! With Kim, Sarah, and Nick, she will be responsible for answering the Project MIMIC hotline and conducting patient follow-ups for Project MIMIC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sarah Salino, BA

Sarah is a Research Assistant on the Project MIMIC team. She graduated from the University of Michigan, where she served as a Research Assistant with a focus on behavioral economic interventions for individuals with substance use disorders. In her free time, Sarah enjoys baking treats for her friends and playing the ukulele. With Kim, Fariha and Nick, she will be responsible for answering the Project MIMIC hotline and conducting patient follow-ups for Project MIMIC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Behind the Scenes” Team

Bryan Garner, PhD

Bryan is the Co-Principal Investigator for Project MIMIC. He is a Professor at Ohio State University, where he serves as the Principal Investigator for two other large-scale research projects funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. When not working, Bryan enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, working in his yard, and playing sports. Bryan will be overseeing the CM tracker tool and delivery of the E-ATTC condition.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kira DiClemente, PhD

Kira was a Research Scientist at Brown University and effective September 1st, will be a Research Assistant Professor at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine offering background support for the Project MIMIC Team. Kira has a doctorate in Behavioral and Social Health Sciences from Brown University and works on public health programs in the United States and South Africa. Outside of work, she loves crafts of all sorts and any opportunity to get creative. Kira will offer ongoing support to all Project MIMIC Staff members throughout the course of the study.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bryan Hartzler, PhD

Bryan is a Co-Investigator on Project MIMIC. An Associate Professor at the University of Washington’s Alcohol & Drug Abuse Institute, he also serves as Director of the Northwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center. Bryan is a Clinical Psychologist and CM expert, involved in a range of professional activities concerning dissemination and implementation of health services for persons with substance use disorders. In his spare time, he loves outdoor activities, traveling to new places, and is an avid soccer fan. Bryan supports the team by providing ongoing consultation for CM procedures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cara M. Murphy, PhD

Cara is a Co-Investigator on the Project MIMIC research team. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and faculty member at the Brown School of Public Health. Her work studies how behaviors that impact health like eating, physical activity, and using substances affect each other. Cara enjoys being outside, taking her dog for walks, sitting by a fire, learning about new things, traveling, listening to podcasts, and making others laugh. Cara helps with coding of monthly CM sessions and provides ongoing support for the Project MIMIC team as needed.
