Christy Capone, PhD
Dr. Capone is a clinical psychologist at the Providence VA Medical Center where she serves as PTSD-SUD Specialist. She is an Assistant Professor (Research) in Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. Informed by her clinical work with veterans, Dr. Capone became interested in how to best address trauma-related guilt and shame, and she currently leads a clinical trial funded by the Department of Defense comparing two psychotherapies on measures of guilt, shame, distress and other outcomes. Dr. Capone’s interests more broadly are focused on treatment outcomes for comorbid PTSD and substance use.
Erica Eaton, PhD
Dr. Eaton is a clinical psychologist in the Trauma Recovery Services (TRS) clinic at the Providence VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University. Her primary research interests are in complementary and integrative treatment approaches for co-occurring substance use disorders (SUD) and PTSD.
