Professor Perry (’91) joined Brown’s Department of East Asian Studies in 2008, and Comparative Literature in 2019. He received his Ph.D. from The University of Chicago in 2007 and did postdoctoral work at Harvard University’s Reischauer Institute for Japanese Studies and Korea Institute. In 2011 he was a Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences and in 2016 an ACLS Fellow at Cambridge University’s Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities.
