The Trans-Led Care Study

Investigators from Brown University are developing a gender-affirming, wellness program for transgender people of all identities who drink alcohol or use other drugs.
This program is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT), which focuses on teaching mindfulness skills, and connecting with personal values to improve mental health.

What does participation involve?
We have just completed enrollment for the first phase of the study! Research participants shared opinions and preferences in an online video interview over Zoom. This feedback from trans community members will shape the program we're developing.
The next phase of the study will involve testing our gender-affirming adaption of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in an open pilot. To be notified when enrollment begins for this program, contact us.
