I Stand With Immigrants Day of Action 2018

When: Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Where: Main Green

Time: 1:30-4pm

Calling all members of the community – Join us on October 24th for the THIRD ANNUAL #IStandWithImmigrants Day of Action! Over 170 colleges & universities are participating in this national campaign.

EVENTS:
-Take a photo with one of our signs and post it on social media with the hashtags #IAmAnImmigrant or #IStandWithImmigrants
-Reflect on your immigrant identity, or tell us how you support the immigrant community!
-Enter the raffle to win a FREE T-shirt
-Express interest in the university developing a Migration Studies concentration

ACTIONS:
-Call Congress & tell them to protect DACA recipients (fwd.us/action/call-for-dreamers)
-Tell Congress to protect legal avenues for ALL immigrants (fwd.us/immigration/legal-avenues)
-Tell Congress to create a pathway to citizenship for our 11 million undocumented immigrants
(fwd.us/immigration/pathway)

U-FLi Cookie Study Break

Where: FLi Center, SciLi 5th Floor

Time: 8 – 10 pm

Stop by the FLi Center for free Insomnia Cookies and meet other U-FLi community members, including our office manager, Vanessa Fajardo. Utilize the study space, learn about the center’s programs, and enter a raffle for this semester’s FLi Center t-shirt!

FLi to U-FLi Community Conversation

The FLi Center wants to officially change our name from FLi to U-FLi, formally declaring its connection and commitment to Undocumented students.

Time: 5:30 – 7pm

New and continuing U-FLi students at Brown are invited to our first event of the year. Join us for food, a little fun, and a chance to (re)connect with other students, faculty, and staff.

*The First-Generation College and Low-Income Student Center (FLi Center) is a communal, learning, and advocacy space for members of the Brown community who identify with any of the following: undocumented (DACA, TPS), low-income, and/or first-generation college.
