John Brown House, Providence, RIIn 2008, the Archaeology of College Hill began excavations at the John Brown House, on the corner of Benefit and Power Streets on the East Side of Providence. The John Brown House is a historic museum that is owned and operated by the Rhode Island Historical Society (RIHS). The proximity and interaction between the museum, preservationists from the RIHS, and the College Hill students conducting archaeological fieldwork was especially effective for communicating the broad scope of the archaeological process to the students in ARCH 1900 and to the public, from the ground up.

Work at the site concluded in November 2011.
