How do children think about rules and patterns?
This study is for age 5 years
In this study, we explore how children learn about abstract relations between variables (how one variable relates to another variable). Children must be 5 years old and be able to speak and understand English to participate.
Your child will interact with a special machine that plays music for different lengths of time when different-sized blocks are placed on it. Your child will then be asked to predict how this machine works.
This study takes place in-person at our lab on the Brown University Campus at 190 Thayer St., Providence, Rhode Island. We will provide FREE PARKING if you let us know in advance that you will be driving.
After the study, your child will receive a small prize for participating in our study.
