Apriel K Hodari, PhD, is an expert in STEM education research, equity and workforce diversity, and the culture of STEM disciplines. She is a Principal Investigator with Eureka Scientific, Inc. Her current research focuses on the cultures of STEM disciplines, centering the lived experiences of successful women of color in STEM fields.
Dr Hodari serves as PI for ADVANCE Partnership: Faculty Online Learning Communities for Gender Equity: Targeting Department Level Change in STEM; SBE-UKRI: Collaborative Research: Centering Women of Color in STEM: Data-Driven Opportunities for Inclusion; What Do Physicists From Majority Groups Know and Believe about Race and Gender? and Centering Women of Color in STEM: Identifying and Scaling Up What Helps Women of Color Thrive. She also serves as advisor to College Institutional Factors on the Success of Women and Underrepresented Minorities in STEM Majors.
Dr Hodari earned a doctorate in experimental nonlinear optics from Hampton University. She was awarded as a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow with the Physics Education Research Group at the University of Maryland, College Park; a Congressional Science Fellow in the US House of Representatives; and a Fulbright Scholar at Queen Mary, University of London.
