Monica Pangilinan earned her PhD in particle physics on the DZero experiment in 2010 with the Brown University, and continued research on LUX, a dark matter experiment, as a postdoctoral researcher also with Brown University until May 2014. She moved into data science with the help of Insight Data Science, a Fellowship program that helps PhDs in quantitative fields make the transition from academia to a career in data science, and spent 3+ years doing cross measurement viewership attribution for tv and digital platforms at Samba TV. She is currently working at Pinterest, a company that is continuing to build the world’s first visual discovery engine that helps bring its users the inspiration to create a life they love.
