Co Chair & Professor of Physics & Engineering at Brown University.
She is a condensed matter experimentalist working on study of emergent quantum properties of matter using predominantly magnetic resonance techniques. Professor Mitrovic joined the Brown Physics Department in 2003. A graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology, she received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2001. She has done postdoctoral work at Grenoble High Magnetic Field Laboratory (Grenoble, France). She is an A. P. Sloan Fellow, a Fellow of the American Physical Society for “pioneering contributions to NMR study of low energy excitations in emergent quantum phases”, France-US Kavli Frontiers of Science Alumni, as well as the Finalist of Moore Investigators in Quantum Materials Program. She serves as a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Low Temperature Physics. She served on numerous APS award selection committees: Joseph F. Keithley Award For Advances in Measurement Science and “Richard L. Greene Dissertation Award in Experimental Condensed Matter or Materials Physics”.
Currently, she leads a large team focusing on “Identification and Control of Fundamental Properties of Quantum Matter’’ and specifically on how to “Harnessing the data revolution for the quantum leap: From quantum control to quantum materials’’. Mitrović serves on the diversity and inclusion committee of Brown’s physics department and strongly believes inclusion and diversity as core values of science in general.
