	Nicolas Lux Fawzi received undergraduate degrees in bioengineering and marketing at the University of Pennsylvania. He received a Ph.D. from the Joint Graduate Group in Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley and UCSF for his work with Teresa Head-Gordon on molecular simulation of protein aggregation, and completed postdoctoral training in the group of G. Marius Clore at the National Institutes of Health in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy of protein association and aggregation. Nicolas Fawzi joined the faculty at Brown in January 2013. He and his wife have a son and daughter and enjoy cycling. nicolas_fawzi@brown.edu

Postdoctoral scholars:
	Dr. Kathleen A. Burke (postdoc 2013-2016) Ph.D. in chemistry in 2013 from West Virginia University for her research on the effect of polyglutamine expansion length and flanking sequence composition on protein/lipid interaction in Huntington’s Disease. At Brown, her work on NMR spectroscopy of the protein FUS was the first publication to describe the structural details of liquid-liquid phase separation.
	Dr. Ailin Wang (postdoc 2016-2018) Ph.D. in chemistry from Mississippi State University in 2016 for her work on protein-nanoparticle interaction using NMR spectroscopy.
	Dr. Jayakrishna Shenoy (postdoc 2021-2023) Ph.D. in Chemical Science from the University of Bordeaux, France. At Brown, he studied the transient interactions that drives TDP-43 CTD phase separation. Jaya received the Milton Safenowitz Postdoctoral Fellowship from the ALS association in 2022.

	Anastasia Murthy graduated from Suffolk University in 2015 with a degree in biochemistry. Her work was supported by an award from the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program. 	Kaylee Mathews graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2016 with a degree in biochemistry. She completed her PhD in the molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry (MCB) graduate program at Brown University (2016-2021).
	Theodora Myrto Perdikari graduate from National Technical University of Athens with a degree in Chemical Engeineering. She completed her PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at Brown University (2019-2022).
Research assistants:
	Rute Silva (Brown ’13) was a research assistant in the group 2013-2014, concentrated in immunology and graduated with honors from Brown University, and is now a medical student at UMass Medical School.
	Abigail Janke (Brown ’16) graduated in computational biology and was awarded a UTRA for undergraduate research during summers 2014 and 2015, a Research at Brown grant to attend the Intracellular Phase Transitions conference at Princeton in spring 2015, and a Biology Senior Prize for Academic Excellence and a Senior Thesis Prize from Brown University. She was a research assistant in the lab in 2016/17 and is currently an MD/PhD student at the Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan-Kettering Tri-Institutional MD-PhD program in New York City.
Undergraduates:
	Kohana Leuba (Brown undergraduate ’14, Biomedical Engineering) completed her honors thesis in the group entitled “Aggregation of the low complexity domain of FUS: effect of temperature and ALS-associated disease mutations.” She was selected for the Tokyo Tech International Research Opportunity Program (TiROP) for summer 2013. She completed co-op positions at Genentech and Biogen Idec and started a permenant position at Juno Therapeutics.
	Jamie Fried (Brown undergraduate ’14, Neuroscience) completed his honrs thesis in the group entitled “Observing the Neurodegenerative Disease Associated Aggregation of the Protein FUS Using NMR Spectroscopy”, supported in part by a summer 2013 UTRA fellowship. He joined Richard Axel’s group at Columbia as a research assistant in Fall 2014.
	Louis Taylor (Tulane undergraduate ’14, Cell and molecular biology) was a summer research assistant in the group. He received an NIH Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award to conduct postbac research at NIH. He received the Professor Erik G. Ellgaard Award for Excellence in Cell in Molecular Biology upon graduation from Tulane and is now a grad student at Penn.
	Lillian Duran (Brown undergraduate ’14, Biology) investigated the aggregation of TDP-43 in the group and began Brown Med school as a PLME student Fall 2014.
	Charlene Chabata ’16 completed her honors thesis for which she won a Senior Prize in Biology. She was awarded a UTRA and LINK awards for her work in the lab and phamacology research summer 2015 in her native Zimbabwe. She was awarded and led a Project for Peace bringing biological research training to two schools in Zimbabwe. She is now a PhD student in pharmacology at Duke.
	Daniel Ramirez Montero ’16 was awarded the Lleallyn B. Clapp Prize for Outstanding Senior Honors Thesis in Biochemistry for his work in tha lab. He was awarded an UTRA fellowship for undergraduate research during summer 2014 and 2015. He went on to the Graduate Programme at AstraZeneca and is applying to PhD programs in biochemistry.
	DaHee Seo ’17 completed an honors thesis in biochemistry. She then entered a PhD program at UT Southwestern.
	Shivam Nadimpalli ’19 is a future biochemistry concentrator.
	Joshua Amaya ’18 is a graduated with honors in neuroscience. He received the Neuroscience Award For Excellence in Academics and Research from the neuroscience department at graduation in May 2018.
	Mark Liang ’19 is a biochemistry concentrator planning to pursuing medical school.
