Honors in Music Thesis:

  • alone together: a portfolio of mediated choralities

The initial scope of this project was to respond to the delegitimization of electronic techniques in choral composition through the creation and performance of several different types of electronics-integrated vocal works. Due to the restraints of the ongoing global pandemic, the product of this project has changed, but the ethos is fundamentally the same. The work aims to reinforce the variable manifestations of voice in music, including, but not limited to, singing, speaking, whistling, chewing, and any electronic effects that would contribute to auditory pareidolia. Almost every sound was produced by my voice and environment in conjunction with analog and digital production effects.
