- Monochord
The Monochord is a single-stringed instrument inspired by those of Ellen Fullman and Alvin Lucier. The instrument consists primarily of a feedback loop between various inputs (acoustic or electronic) and the speaker cone, to which the wire itself is attached on one end. The inputs range from plucking and strumming of the wire to synthesized sounds being induced into the wired. As a result, the instrument is able to be played and performed but also able to be set up and left to act on its own.
