Music Capstone Project:

  • Live a Little

My senior capstone project was completed as part of Jim Moses’s class, Advanced Studio Techniques. As a singer and musician, my focus had always been on performance and songwriting, but this class has helped me branch out further into music production, and has allowed me to build up the confidence to translate my work into solid tracks. My capstone project consists of tracks that I have written, recorded, arranged and mixed myself, and contains elements of R&B, Pop and Tropical House. These tracks are a preview of what I intend to include in my upcoming EP, and serve as a sort of journal of my final year at Brown – they document the feelings, emotions, thoughts and situations I experienced throughout the year. The theme of these tracks revolve around growth, development and realization in many different aspects: friendships, romantic relationships, family, mental health, coming of age, and more.
