“Echo” is a musical about a woman whose voice has been taken from her. She lives in a hybridized society of modernity and Greek Mythology, and wants nothing more than to sing her own music. As she struggles in her chosen career, she also faces the challenge of being a single mother. Echo meets and falls for Aphrodite, a washed up ‘goddess’ celebrity who offers to help Echo, but also wants nothing more than to get back under the spotlight herself. The story follows Echo’s attempt to see through toxic ideas of love and find her own voice through music.

Personal Statement:

For the last four years, the music department at Brown University has been my home. From finding empty classrooms to practice in to napping in empty corners of the library, my time there has truly been a blessing. To everyone I’ve met, worked with, wrote with, sung with and played with, I want to tell you that I am truly grateful for the memories and will cherish them forever.
