About the Study

The purpose of the study is to compare the effects of two different counseling approaches on participants’ alcohol use and health. The study will involve the completion of a baseline survey, one to six individual sessions of counseling, and surveys at 6 and 12 months after enrolling. The counseling sessions will be completed by telephone or videoconference depending on your preference. The videoconference sessions will be conducted through Zoom, which is a software program. You are being asked to be in this study because you are receiving care for HIV at one of our participating health centers, and you drink alcohol. You are 18 years of age or older.

This project is sponsored by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
