Students, both graduate, and undergraduate, are encouraged to pursue space science-related careers through various programs. Student RISG support can take the form of fellowship, internship, and participation in programs at NASA facilities. Awardees must be US Citizens.

Educators are encouraged to support student interest in STEM. For higher education, RISG funding can support research awards for faculty-guided projects, travel expenses for field work, attendance at professional meetings, and participation in programs at NASA facilities. Awardees must be US Citizens.

For K-12 education, RISG funding can support STEM professional development, participation in NASA challenges, field trips, and special programming. Awardees must be US Citizens.
